Most of us don’t give our roof a second thought until it stops doing its job. It’s your best defense against rain, sleet, snow, hail, sun, and storms. It’s the one thing keeping the rest of your home dry, locks in heat in the winter, and helps keep you cool in the summer. No wonder, then, that when we talk about home we talk about having a roof over our head!
There are a few signs that alert you when it’s time for a new roof.
- Visible Damage:
Whether it’s a severe storm or just the passage of time, you may notice shingles that are cracked, damaged, or missing. Sometimes the damage is localized and can be repaired quickly and easily. However, more severe damage can mean it’s time for a new roof.
Your roof won’t last forever. If it’s an asphalt roof that’s more than fifteen years old and you notice your heating or air conditioning bills starting to climb, call us. Even if your roof looks fine, it may not be working as well as it used to.
The first sign of a leak won’t always be dripping water. Sometimes it’s higher humidity inside your home, condensation on the windows, or a mildew smell that you can’t trace to a source. That can mean that water is getting behind your walls, soaking into your insulation and sheetrock.
Unsure? Call the experts. We’ll give you a free roofing consultation and advise you on the best course of action.
